Ok so cool we are publishing! Ok it is January 20th 2014 and it is a Monday Moon's
day in Saxon! It is Little Tinker (Bell)'s birthday today and the airplane template for today is the A-20 Havoc built by Douglas
which was also known as the DB-7 Boston Bomber or in it's night fighter bomber version the P-70! First flight was January
23rd 1939 and entered service on January 10th 1941! 7478 were built and left service in 1949!
Tinker is 63 years old and he got two aviation books over the holiday's one the Super Marine Spitfire and the other about
Junker's aircraft and aircraft company!
Although both book are quite interesting
tinker was reading the book about Junkers aircraft which he found out built all metal airframes for aircraft that other aircraft
companies were building them out of fabric and wood! Tinker found out from the book that Hugo Junkers was politcaly seen as
a pacifist at the time and had 12 children! at first into the heating and sheet metal business he became friend with a guy
that built and rebuilt a French aircraft and Junkers became interested in building aircraft out of Metal In Tinker's house
in Moline Illinois where his older sister lives a house that was built in the 1920's Tinker was told when he was a little
boy riding his bike in the neighborhood that Anthony Fokker the airplane designer may have stayed there in his house or
visited the residence after WW1 and according to the book Tinker read about Junker's today during WW1 both Junkers and Fokker
were partner's during the war an split up or were split up by the treaty of WW1 in 1919! Later Junker's formed a pilots school
and it became quite famous and it turned into the Luftansia airline company!
Hugo Junker's built many different aircraft and my dad said that whether he was a pacifist or not he was a German citizen
and his JU-88 aircraft during the war tore into American and British bomber formation's with a vengeance!
Junker's aircraft was noted to have his all metal airframe design's far out ahead of the designed power plants of the day
and in 1945 one of his six engine recon aircraft flew all the way from Germany to just 20 minutes outside the city of New
York!
Actually still in the business until 1969 Tinker was graduating from
high school and joining the army to go to Vietnam as we (United State's) and NASA with the Apollo booster rocket the
Saturn 5 which was designed by a German that had built V-2 rocket's during WW2 had landed on the moon! The last thing
they said about Junker's was in 1969 they were working on reuseable spacecraft!
