template today codex is the PBY-5 Catalina Patrol bomber of WW2 which first flew on 28 March 1935 (28 March 1979 was when
the three mile island accident happened)! they cost in U.S. dollars in 1935 about $90,000 dollars each adjusted for inflation
about $1,548,131 dollars today!
At first a flying boat and then fitted with
wheels also they were the most numerous of WW2 flying boat aircraft! Retired by the U.S. Navy in 1957 many are still flying
today produced from 1936-1945 3,305 were built 620 by Canada and 24 were built by the Soviets!
Another aircraft we added is the Northrop F-5 freedom fighter which first flew on 30 July 1959 It was designed to be an export
version that did not have all of the electronics built into it but was fast an maneuverable many countries bought them and
several were captured and flown by the North Vietnamese air force after south Vietnam fell in 1975!
A later model Called the F-5 Tiger was first flown on 11 August 1972! We do not have a price for this aircraft but it is still
in some countries inventories today and has been used in combat especially by Iran in the Iran -Iraq war as well as
in other combat sorties by other countries! There were 847 of the F-5 A, B, and C's built and 1399 of the F-5 E's, and
F's! models!
